Placing Bets

Edited

5.1. The Customer shall place his/her bets via the internet or through such other electronic media as may be made available by Easybet.

5.2. A bet shall be deemed void if it is not transmitted in full. Once a client places a bet, a bet confirmation will appear on the bet slip. A client can review bets placed in the “My Betting History” section of their account.

5.3. The minimum bet online is R1 (One Rand). Customers are unable to cancel or change a bet once the bet has been placed and the acceptance is confirmed. All prices are subject to variation and become fixed at the time a bet is placed. All winning bets will be settled at the prices shown on Easybet at the time the bet was accepted. Multiple bets are accepted; however, no such bet can be accepted where the result of one leg influences the outcome of another. This is deemed to be a related bet.

5.4. Irrespective of the origin or physical location of the Customer or any electronic signal pursuant to which bets are struck, any betting transaction between Easybet and the Customer shall be valid only once such bet has been accepted by the server operated by Easybet. Until acceptance, no communications from the Customer shall be binding on Easybet, and all information displayed on the Site constitutes an invitation to play only. Should Easybet elect to waive a rule in the interest of fair play to the Customer or for any other reason, such waiver shall apply only in respect of the specific transaction involved, and shall not set a precedent for the future.

5.5. Any bet accepted by Easybet will be deemed to have been placed at the licensed premises.

5.6. Easybet may in its sole discretion elect whether to accept or reject a bet requested, or any component thereof.

5.7. The Customer authorizes and consents to each electronic or other communication relating to any bet placed being recorded by Easybet in such manner as Easybet deems fit and to such records being retained for as long as Easybet deems necessary. The Customer acknowledges that Easybet is required to keep such records by law and that such records may be used by Easybet for the investigation and resolution of disputes which may arise between itself and the Customer or for any other lawful purpose.

5.8. The Customer shall bear the responsibility of ensuring that the bet is accurately placed and recorded by Easybet. Easybet shall furnish such confirmation of a bet to the Customer as may be required by law or reasonably requested by the Customer.

5.9. Easybet shall accept bets during normal South African business hours and at such other times as Easybet may deem fit.

5.10. The Customer shall be responsible for ensuring that he/she has full knowledge of the rules applicable to the market within which the Customer proposes to place a bet.

5.11. The placement of a bet on any market signifies the Customer’s acceptance of the Rules published by Easybet in respect thereof and of these Terms.

5.12. While Easybet will endeavour to ensure complete accuracy in relation to the announcement, publication and issue of prices, off-times (starting times of events) and results, it does not accept responsibility for any errors which may arise in this regard and reserves the right to correct any such errors in such manner as it may determine in its sole discretion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Customer indemnifies and holds Easybet harmless in respect of any losses, whether potential or actual and direct or indirect, which may be suffered in consequence of any such error.

5.13. The time of acceptance of a bet shall be the time at which such bet was recorded on the wagering software operated by Easybet.

5.14. Any bet accepted after the “off” or starting time of the event on which such bet is struck (other than bets in-running) shall be null and void and of no force or effect. Any bets taken on results already known at the time of the placement of such bets will be voided/cancelled by Easybet.

5.15. Easybet reserves the right to refuse or void any bet. A number of bets may be treated as being one when a client sends multiple copies of the same bet. Limits will apply as if the bets are single bets. Easybet reserves the right to void or refuse bets where there may be evidence of collusion between two or more clients. Where a number of multiple bets, involving identical or very similar selections are received by different clients within a short timeframe, Easybet reserves the right to void or refuse all such bets, even after the bets have been determined. Additionally, Easybet reserves the right to place limits on accounts.

5.16. Easybet reserves the right to refuse any bet or part of a bet, while providing a valid reason, at any time. In addition, Easybet reserves the right to close a customer's account and refund the balance of their account with an explanation. Easybet also reserves the right to bring legal action against customers and/or clients where a regulatory authority finds that collusion has taken place.

5.17. Bets cannot be wagered on both/opposing markets in the same event, for example: “high/low” markets in lucky numbers, “to bat first” market in cricket, “handicap/spread” betting in rugby or any other market/events that Easybet at its sole discretion regards as both/opposing markets for the same event. Should such bets be accepted, the second bet taken on the same event/opposing market will be void.

5.18. In the event of false or fraudulent representation by clients, Easybet shall not be obliged to pay any winnings which might otherwise have been payable in respect of the bet, including the wagered stake.

5.19. All prices quoted in promotional messages and in sports fixtures are correct at the time of sending. Prices may move upwards or downwards between the time of sending the message/fixtures and the time of the event. The only price Easybet will accept will be the price offered at the time of placing the bet.

5.20. Additional or new markets may be made available by Easybet from time to time. It is the responsibility of the Customer to read and accept the market rules applicable to such market before placing any bets.
